Approval of materials and products

Materials and products used in the construction of ships and floating facilities for the Register class, shall be submitted to the shipyard with the documents confirming their compliance with the requirements of the Register, IMO conventions, recommendations.

The technical supervision over the manufacture of materials and products only extend to the properties, parameters and characteristics regulated by the Rules of the Register, which are indicated in the approved technical documentation. The Register shall not replace the activities of state supervision bodies and officials of a shipowner, shipyard or enterprise.

The approval of materials and products, as well as technological processes, is carried out by the Register for the conformity with the requirements of the Register rules, international conventions and agreements, International Maritime Organization (IMO), governments that issued a respective authorization to the Register, and additional requirements.

Based on the results of the technical supervision, the Register issues documents of the established form for the objects of the technical supervision, which certify the conformity of an object of the technical supervision with the requirements of the Register as well as its manufacture (construction) under the technical supervision of the Register.
